Unique Date Ideas in Destin

You're on vacation right? (Or maybe a vacation state of mind?) Either way, date nights deserve to be kicked up a notch if you ask me! Here are some of the most unique date ideas in the Destin area that are sure to make vacation-dating a new favorite with you and your significant other.

#1: Happy Hour Paddle

Would you be willing to try something new if there were cocktails waiting at the end? With 30A Paddleboard Yoga two can enjoy a stand-up paddle adventure from Mack Bayou to The Bay Restaurant to enjoy happy hour cocktails and sushi, then paddle back to the Sup Hut while watching for dolphins.

Local's Tip: If a two-way 45 minute paddle work-out is not your idea of fun, try one of the slower-paced paddle tours such as the Sunset or Bay paddle tours.

#2: Private Island Dinner

Want to WOW the socks off your date? Check out this upscale dinner date with Sunset Island Dinner. Begin your evening with a boat ride along the Santa Rosa Sound to a table for two, set up on a private island and catered to your specifications. Choose an appetizer, two entrees, drinks and desserts all while taking in the Emerald Coast sunset. If this isn't a proposal opportunity, I don't know what is!

Local's Tip: Book this now, don't wait or they will be booked until next December!

#3: Glow Paddle

Now this one is for those who want something new and different. A paddle in a clear canoe, at night, with glowing neon lights. A Glow Paddle! There are several locations with different companies including Fort Walton Beach, Navarre Beach and Pensacola Beach, so it's a bit outside of the immediate Destin area, but well worth the drive for the adventure!

Local's Tip: Check out the gift shop for some awesome glowing face paint, neon glow sticks and other fun glowing swag!

#4: Throw an Axe in it

Where's a place you can have a local brew, small plate and throw an axe into a wall? Look no further than 30A Axe Throwing Company. If you are closer to Destin central there is also the outdoor throwing area at HarborWalk Village Gulf Coast Axe House or if you are on Okaloosa Island, jaunt across the Brooks Bridge to The Ratchet Hatchet for some good old fashioned axe throwing fun!

Local's Tip: At 30A Axe Throwing Company you can call ahead and book a lane. Do this, you'll be glad you did!
